Beekeeping

   Beekeeping and honey production branch of "Multi Agro" pays the most serious attention to. The initial number of honey bee colonies in 2009 grew to more than 1000 from 171 in 2003. About 450 of the bee-colonies are organized in the southern region of Armenia- Syuniq, where breeding work is organized in the local research-experimental station to preserve and reproduce Caucasian yellow honey bee of Meghri population.

The company organized production and processing of high quality wax, pollen, propolis and other bee-products produced by bees and used in bee production. The company sells other bee products, various drugs for prevention and treatment of common bee diseases as well as scientific literature to support the bee-experts with modern and science-based information to run their bee-farms more effectively. In addition of this, the company has a diagnostic laboratory which serves for beekeepers of Armenia.

"Multi Agro" scientific and production company also provides services to the beekeepers from Yerevan and 10 regions of Armenia at 30% lower costs relative to the market prices, and their number is growing from year to year. To date more than 7500 bee-keepers have used the services of the company's experts and purchase the necessary raw products from the company.

"Multi Agro" scientific and production company also supports all apiculture research work organized in Armenia. Various scientists are working in the company's farms and research stations and develop publications and scientific literature. With the company's support the first textbook on apiculture was published in Armenia and 250 copies were provided to the State Agrarian University of Armenia.

The achievements of the company in the area of bee-breeding and honey production have been introduced widely in different international and local symposia and trade-shows. Numerous times the products of the company have been recognized and received awards in different n ominations.

"Multi Agro" SPC LLC continues to grow and make progress in all of the mentioned sectors of agricultural production. Makes its vision and strategy of expanding and improving the production of different agricultural products with the help of Research Board, founded in 2005.

Prominent researchers from the State Agrarian University of Armenia, specialists of the Ministry of Agriculture of RA and the experts of the company with more than 40 years of service in the sector of apiculture as research, are members of the board. All the new initiatives and projects are discussed by the Board before being implemented by the company.
